Following her graduation from Istanbul University Law School in 1989, she completed a traineeship at Bayraktar Law Firm, where she has been a partner.
 

For more than 30 years, she has practised as an attorney and legal counsel in criminal law matters under the Turkish Criminal Code. Additionally, she has been working in criminal law matters related to Banking Law, Financial Crimes, Trafficking Crimes, Customs, the Capital Markets, Tax Law, Cultural and Natural Properties, Zoning Law, Environmental Law, Health Law, IT Law, Trademark Law, and Press Law. Atty. Dilek Helvaci has participated in a number of important cases as the legal representative for both victims and defendants.
 

Atty. Helvaci has given lectures on criminal law at the Istanbul Bar Association’s Traineeship Centre. She has also attended the OECD Anti-Bribery Work Group at the Justice Ministry's invitation. Atty. Helvaci is a member of organisations such as the Turkish Criminal Law Association and the World Medical Research and Ethics Science Academy. Atty. Helvaci speaks German.
